Greetings!

Hope all of you are enjoying the lovely weather we are having.

Last night's rain came right after the transplanting of our last beets, squash and cucumbers. This means we should have these items into September.

Now we are spending a lot of time weeding and plowing down old crops - things start changing now a little bit as we move away from so much seeding and transplanting and start getting fields ready for cover crops. At home we have a lot of intentions to start freezing for the winter, especially now that it is a little cooler.

We'll see if this comes to pass... we could definitely eat all our own food this winter, if we only had the time to prep it now. Hope you folks are able to do a little of this, too

Dan is so crazy about Komatsuna he even took pictures of our dinner last night! Basically he stir fried Komatsuna with lots of other veggies and some smoked tofu. You can use it in place of Chinese cabbage, Bok Choy or even Kale or Collards. You can use this week's Braising Mix the same way.

Here's the harvest:

cukes, squash, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, fennel, onions, carrots, lettuce, braising mix, cabbage

Best,

Tracy and Dan
